FOURTH GENERATION

34. George Henry WHITE was born on Oct 29 1847 in Forsyth Co., North Carolina. He was baptized on Nov 21 1847 in Moravian Congregation. He died on Dec 11 1933 in West Salem, Ill.. He was buried in Maple Dale (Gardner) Cemetery. George was 10 years old in 1857 when his mother left Illinois for Indiana. He was not in Indiana until his later years. Research indicates that George was living in the home of Tucker William Culbertson for the 1860 Illinois Census, Clay County. George would have been 14 years old at that time. In the 1880 Illinois Census for Richland County, Olney, he is listed as age 33 with wife Anna age 38 and his two step daughters Hattie A. Dixon age 18 and Lilly A. Dixon age 5. In the 1900 Illinois Census, Richland County George is listed as age 52 with wife Fannie born 12/1840 in Indiana age 59 and Viola age 19. In the 1910 Illinois Census, Richland County he is listed as age 62 with Fannie A. age 67. At one time George operated the Hope Cotton Mill in Hope, Indiana.

He was married to Fanny Ann CHRISTY on May 15 1878 in Illinois. Fanny Ann CHRISTY was born on Dec 28 1840 in Greensburg, Indiana. She died on Dec 11 1933 in Edwards Co., Illinois. She was buried in Maple Dale (Gardner) Cemetery. Fanny Ann had seven children with Alfred Dixon but only two lived passed infancy. George Henry WHITE and Fanny Ann CHRISTY had the following children:
